Privacy
This covers what happens when you visit luster.nu. It does not cover sites that run Luster - if you're a fan joining a fanlisting, that site's owner is responsible for their own privacy practices.
What we collect
luster.nu does not run analytics software and does not track visitors. We do not set tracking cookies. We do not have accounts or user registration on this site.
If you use the contact form, the information you submit (name, email address, and message) is sent directly to the site owner. It is used only to respond to your inquiry and is not shared with any third parties.
Third-party services
A small number of external services are involved when you visit this site:
- jQuery (Google CDN) - This site loads jQuery from
ajax.googleapis.com. When your browser requests that file, Google's servers receive your IP address as a standard part of the HTTP request. Google's own privacy policy applies to that interaction. - GitHub - Luster's software downloads are served through GitHub Releases. When you download Luster, GitHub receives your IP address. GitHub's own privacy policy applies.
- Your hosting provider - Like any web server, ours keeps standard access logs (IP address, requested URL, timestamp, browser string). These are used for diagnostic purposes and are not shared.
Cookies
luster.nu does not set any cookies for tracking or analytics purposes. Your browser may receive a session cookie from standard server infrastructure - these contain no personal identifiers and expire when you close your browser.
Luster
License
Luster (the PHP fanlisting management software available for download from this site) is free and open-source software released under the GNU General Public License v3.0.
In plain terms, this means:
- You can download, install, and run Luster on your own server for free.
- You can read and modify the source code.
- If you distribute a modified version of Luster, you must also make that version's source code available under the GPL v3.
- You cannot distribute Luster (or a modified version) under a more restrictive or proprietary license - it must remain open-source under GPL v3.
- You cannot remove or replace the copyright notices in the source code.
- You cannot take Luster - with or without modifications - and sell or distribute it as a closed-source, proprietary product. You cannot repackage or rebrand Luster as your own script and profit from it while denying others access to the source.
The full license text is included in the LICENSE file in every Luster download, and is also available at github.com/starceress/luster.
Luster bundles PHPMailer (LGPL v2.1) via Composer. Its license is included in the vendor/phpmailer/phpmailer/LICENSE file in your install.
The bundled admin panel fonts (DM Sans, DM Mono, and Playfair Display) are self-hosted and licensed under the SIL Open Font License 1.1.

We are not responsible for how you configure Luster, what data you collect through it, or whether your use of it complies with any laws in your jurisdiction.
